We are hosting a Late Spring Salad class with a look at some water-conserving strategies on Floodgate Farm on Heart Mountain. In addition to tasting and discussing the health-giving properties of 40 salad ingredients, we will look at hugel beds, berms and swales, and other ways to make the best use of limited water. The class will conclude with a potluck (including the salad we gather, and kim chi) and attendees will be able to take home seeds of some of the plants they don't have.
Cost is $20; work-trade is available. Meet to caravan/carpool up the mountain from the West Road/Redwood Valley Exit 557 off US 101, near the bus stop, at 1:45 on Sunday, June 1, 2014. We leave at 1:55 promptly so if late or for any other reason you may call 707-272-1688 (Bill or Jaye).
