The Wild Pigeon

There is a book titled “1491” by Charles Mann. I strongly recommend it, to anyone interested in how the Americas were before Columbus, and the Age Of Discovery. Once you start reading it, you won’t want to put it down. Charles Mann discussed the Carrier Pigeon, its enigmatic pre-Columbus history, and it’s demise. I am not sure Mann got it completely right, but he makes some good points. Buy the book, it will end up in. your permanent library. The book that Mann wrote after “1491” is titled “1493”, its also very good. Buy them both.
