Our benefit last Sunday, August 3rd, for Mark and Charlie, was a huge success! Both Charlie Paget-Seekins and Mark Pitner and their friends and families want to express their gratitude and extend a big thank you to everyone in our wonderful Anderson Valley community (and beyond!).
The live and silent auctions were full of fantastic stuff and were very well received. W.Dan did a fantastic job on the mike, as did our Captain Rainbow, who hosted the event and made introductions. Also on stage were Tom Pitner, Mark's dad, and Misha Vega, Charlie's sweetheart, who both did an excellent and difficult job of explaining how their loved ones are faring now.
A huge crew of local friends sold tickets for the raffle and games, too many to thank individually here, but consider yourself thanked for your efforts! The games were fun and entertaining, the prizes were fantastic (including my delicious cheesecake that I won at the last cakewalk!), and I think everyone had a lot of fun celebrating the lives of our beloved friends.
Thanks to Alicia's Tacos, Boon Dogs, Bill Harper, the Lion's Club, and Paysanne for providing us with delicious food in support of Mark and Charlie. The food was so good, it was all eaten up!
Amy Pitner, Mark's sister, wanted us to know how much it meant to her and her dad to attend and participate in the benefit. She says, and I quote: “Thank you on behalf of my whole family for the amazing first hand experience of this warm, kooky, wonderfully supportive community that Mark feels is his second family.”
We are all so grateful for the outpouring of support for these two amazing individuals. Thanks everyone for making it happen!
