[Nov 20]
Linda Wang is among the premier violinists of her generation. Don't miss this very special treat!
Listen to this heart-achingly exquisite piece Wang plays on youtube if you're in any doubt about whether or not you can make it.
On Sunday, November 20, at 3pm in Mendocino's Preston Hall she'll be playing Fantasies for Violin and Piano, with fellow Juilliard graduate and locally popular pianist, Miles Graber. Compositions by Schubert, Schumann, Telemann, Górecki and Sarasate will delight our afternoon audience.
Beginning Suzuki studies at an early age, Wang debuted with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic at the age of nine. She attended Juilliard, the Colburn School and USC. Awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, she pursued advanced studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum. She has studied with many of the great violinists of our age and collaborated with prominent conductors the world over. Her touring has taken her all over Europe, Asia and the Americas to play with large philharmonic orchestras and intimate chamber music ensembles, as well as festivals from Alaska to Savannah and from Austria to Taipei.
Wang presently teaches at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music and is in constant demand to present master classes at distinguished music institutions nationally and internationally.
She performs on a 1767 Guadagnini.
Check out her website for more information and a discography.
Hope to see you on Sunday!
Very best regards
