Report Number: 10-686

Crime/Incident: 459 PC, Burglary, 666 PC petty theft with prior, 10852 CVC Vehicle tampering 496 PC possess stolen property. Willits.

On 03/10/10 at about 1000 hours Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriffs office were detailed to investigate the report of a theft from a vehicle on Della Ave, Willits Ca. Upon arrival deputies spoke with Gabriel Lopez and learned that sometime the previous evening, a cellular telephone, change, and a wallet with credit cards were stolen from his vehicle which was parked in front of his residence on Della Ave.

Lopez stated he had spoken with the credit card companies and learned the ATM card was used at a fuel station and a restaurant in the Willits area.

Deputies were able to retrieve video surveillance recordings from a business and viewed these recordings, recognizing a suspect, Lewis Dishman. Dishman was dressed in distinct clothing during the time he used the cards.

[Note: The “distinct clothing” was a hooded camouflage jacket, faded black jeans and a single black glove.]

Deputies began searching the area for Dishman and eventually saw him seated in front of a residence in the city of Willits. Dishman was found to be wearing the same clothing he had worn on the video surveillance. Dishman was arrested for burglary, vehicle tampering and petty theft with priors. A search of Dishman's person revealed the stolen cellular telephone. Dishman declined to advise where the remaining stolen property was.

Dishman was transported and booked into the Mendocino County Jail on this listed charges and is held on $15,000.00 bail.
