Earl Hopper spent 30 years with the Army in Airborne Special Services and with Army Intelligence. McCain also abandoned the USS Forrestal while flames were still burning from a fire he might have helped spread by his cowardice and ineptitude.

The NVA or Vietcong or whoever downed his plane would have done the people of this country a great service by summarily executing Mr. McCain.
