Along the McCloud River watershed in California, the Winnemem Wintu carry forth their traditions, ceremonies, and cultural responsibilities. Standing at the forefront of efforts to restore wild salmon and protect natural water systems, the tribe is fighting disastrous megaprojects such as the Delta Twin Tunnels and the Shasta Dam Raise that threatens to bury vital Winnemem ceremonial sites beneath Shasta Lake. http://winnememwintu.us/
• Film Screening “Dancing Salmon Home” is a journey of loss and reunification across generations and oceans as the Winnemem Wintu tribe of Northern California journeys to New Zealand to meet their long-lost Chinook salmon relatives, which have been missing from their river for 65 years.

• Slideshow Presentation Journalist Will Parrish will discuss the impact of California’s insatiable appetite for dams, reservoirs, and water exports on natural water systems, wild fish, and small farmers in the context of an unprecedented drought, with an emphasis on environmental justice.
