Interesting article. The “end of times” theme seems more real then, than now, and there are similarities. But I have to note, percent wise, the largest human calamity in recorded history was the pandemic of European, and African diseases that killed up to 90% of Indians in America after Columbus “discovered” America. For Indians that really was “end of times”.
