Evening Dining in the Valley

All our local eateries are back up and running apart from Aquarelle, which is not re-opening as a dinner restaurant to the public. Chef Christina and partner Saturo will provide private dining and catered events (aquarellecafe.com). Libby resumes as Guest Chef next week (March 5) for Mexican Mondays at Lauren’s Restaurant from 5-9pm. Tasty menus adorn The Buckhorn pub and Lizbby’s Mexican restaurant. The Boonville Hotel is open Friday 4.30-6.30pm and Saturday evenings, for family-style, prix fixe menus; Sunday lunch at 1pm. Reservations: 895-2210. The Redwood Drive-In & Gas Station is open 6am-8pm everyday. Stone and Embers, at The Madrones south of Philo, is open from Noon to 8pm, Thursday thru’ Sunday. In the Deep End, The Bewildered Pig at The Floodgate serves dinner Thursday-Sunday, 5-9pm, last reservation at 8.30pm. PS. Community Bulletin Correction: The Buckhorn’s Prime Rib Special night is actually on Thursdays, not Wednesdays.

Public Service Announcements

#541. Important! Care-a-Van, sponsored by the AV Animal Rescue, will be at The AV Grange next Tuesday, March 6 from 10am-2pm. Vaccinations, heartworm tests, and micro-chipping. Also spay and neuter service, by appointment: 888-7698. A wonderful service.

#542. The Vets from the Mendocino Animal Hospital will visit on Thursdays, March 8 and 29 at the AV Farm Supply from 2-4pm.

#543. The County Dump is open from 9am-4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

#544. The Boonville Farmers’ Market continues their Winter venue at Seebass Winery/General Store in Boonville every Saturday morning, 9.30am-Noon. Cindy, 895-2949.

#545. The Bookmobile returns to the Valley Tuesday, March 6: Navarro Store 9am (for 30 minutes before heading to Comptche); the Floodgate 12.30pm; Philo 1.30pm; Boonville (Apple Hall) 2.30pm.

Here is the menu for the Community lunches over the next week in the Senior Center at the Veterans Building in Boonville. $6 donation from Seniors and $7 for Non-seniors. Tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, the lunch, served by Marti Titus and her crew at Noon, will be Meatloaf and Mashed potatoes with Birthday Cupcakes for dessert. Next Tuesday, March 6, the lunch features Chicken "Bleu" Casserole with Carrot Cake for dessert. Includes vegetables, salad bar, and fruit, plus milk, coffee, tea, and lemonade.
