Sure go ahead and decriminalize all drugs and end up with a bunch of zombies walking around. Just look at Mendo and Humboldt counties – full of zombies.
The rest of us must clean up after these people if their inebriation causes an automobile accident or a fire in an apartment building. And long time substance abuse produces the Kelisha Alvarezes of the world.
Substance abuse affects family members and people who have the bad luck to live near the abuser. It’s not just their own lives they’re affecting by their choice to use mind altering substances.
