Ukefest Kick-Off On Friday, April 11 At Community Center Of Mendocino

Enjoy a weekend celebrating the ukulele as a friendly and playful instrument, beginning with a Ukulele Variety Show and jam session at the Community Center of Mendocino. The UkeFest Kick-Off will start on Friday, April 11 at 7:30 PM with performances followed by a ukulele jam session/sing-along. CCM is located 998 School St, corner of Pine Streets in Mendocino.

Performers include Dennis Hudson, Pattie DeMatteo, members of the Mendocino Ukulele class and many of your friends and neighbors. Players will lead the jam session and singalong in the second portion of the evening, offering songbooks to follow along and encouraging all levels of interest and experience to attend the all-day activities at Caspar Community Center on Saturday.

Third Annual Caspar UkeFest Benefit on April 12 

at Caspar Community Center

An all-day ukulele festival is planned for Saturday, April 12, when Mendocino Stories and Music Series joins The Caspar Community to celebrate the ukulele as a friendly and playful instrument. Instructional workshops, jam sessions, open mic and evening performances, complemented by "...fresh, local, and gourmet cuisine prepared by the volunteers in Caspar's kitchen." The day’s activities start at 10AM and will finish by 9:30PM at Caspar Community Center.

Morning ukulele workshops will be held at 10AM and 11:30AM, with instruction for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. After a break for lunch, a third workshop will be held followed by jam sessions in small break-out groups and ad hoc workshops. Evening performances starting at 7PM will include emcee Jim D’Ville, Dan Scanlan, The Ukeholics and special guests.
