Evening Dining in the Valley

Winter hours (some are closed.) Lauren’s Restaurant, Lizbby’s, and The Redwood Drive-In are on regular hours. The Buckhorn Pub’s winter hours are: Monday & Thursday: 11am open to 11pm bar; Wednesday: 4pm open, 11pm bar; Prime Rib Special Night; Friday: 11am open, midnight bar; Saturday: 10am open, midnight bar; Sunday: 10am open, 11pm bar; Kitchen open until 9pm every night; Brunch weekends 10am-3pm; closed Tuesdays. The Boonville Hotel is open on Friday and Saturday evenings serving their family-style, prix fixe menu; Sunday lunch at 1pm. Reservations: 895-2210. Aquarelle is closed. Stone and Embers is closed. In the Deep End, The Bewildered Pig is closed, reopening on Thursday, January 25.

#542. The Vets from the Mendocino Animal Hospital visit Thursday, January at the AV Farm Supply north of Philo on Highway 128 from 2-4pm.

#544. The Boonville Farmers’ Market continues their Winter venue outside Seabass Winery alongside the General Store in Boonville every Saturday morning, 9.30am-Noon. Cindy: 895-2949.

#547. The best Valley-centric gatherings of the year, our two big local Crab Feeds start with the Senior Center Crab Feed this Saturday, January 20 at The Apple Hall in Boonville. All you can eat crab! Margaritas available too. Tickets are $40, available at the Senior Center, AV Market, and Lemons’ Market. The Gloria Ross Original Crab Feed is at the same place two weeks later, Saturday, February 3. Also all you can eat crab, plus all the wine you can drink, and Margaritas for sale. This one is $45 for 12 and older, $25 for kids 1-11. Tickets available from John Shultz 895-9552; Terry Rhoades 621-1153; and Jorge 895-2778. Don’t delay. These events will sell out.

Here is the menu for the Community lunches and dinners next week at the Senior Center at the Veterans Building in Boonville. $6 donation for seniors for both lunch and dinner; $7 for Non-senior lunch, $8 for the dinner. Tomorrow, Thursday, January 18, the lunch, served by Marti Titus and her crew at Noon, will be Brisket followed by Holy Cow Cake. Next Tuesday, January 23, the evening meal at 6pm, features Turkey Soup with Coconut Lime Berry Cake for dessert. Includes vegetables, salad bar, and fruit, plus milk, coffee, tea, and lemonade. What a deal!
