Great Moments in Community Radio

Peggy: Hey, good afternoon. We got Jazzfeast here. K-M-U-D Garberville 91.1 FM. K-M-U-D Eureka-Arcata Ninety...um, I mean 88.3. K-L-A-I in Laytonville 90.3 FM...For our way out there listeners you can always catch us on the web at KMUD dot...KMUD dot org. Let's slow down a little bit. There's a lot going  here. This being a town that only has one or two roads that go in and out of it, well, when those roads close, everyone get's concerned for good reasons...
For right now there's controlled traffic going north on Redway and the old Bryceland Road is open because the bluffs just west of the Briceland volunteer fire department are closed...All this rain, it messes with your energy a little bit and, uh, my energy has been along the lines of some slow tunes, some ballads and stuff...
Peggy: [Interrupting music] Hey everybody, I messed that up for you. But good, don't worry. The road is open. I misunderstood because I was thinking music and not listening to information. There has been a significant flood north of Redway on Redway Drive, so we're not talking about Briceland Road here. It currently has controlled one-way traffic and cars in both directions. South of Redway is still closed but will be opening back up soon. Once this is open, north of Redway from Briceland Road to Highway 101...will...aahh....anyway, um.
Producer: Will be closed?
Peggy: Will be closed! Ha! Thank you. There was no verb there. So stay tuned for more information and I'll try to keep it right for you.
Peggy: [Interrupting music] We had a vigilant listener call up and say that I stated that north of Redway is closed. It's not. It's got one-way controlled traffic north of Redway on Redway Drive. South of Redway is still closed, but will be opening back up to traffic from Redway to Garberville soon. Once this is open, north of Redway from Briceland Road to 101 will be closed. Okay? So they can clean it up and everyone will be able to get around. There we go.
