Inland Valley Women's Chorus is celebrating 20 years of glorious singing! Come share an evening of songs on Saturday, May 10th, 7pm, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (640 S. Orchard, next door to DMV) in Ukiah. The concert is a benefit for Project Sanctuary and Plowshares; donations at the door (no one turned away). Songs from our 20-year repertoire will honor women, peace & justice, nature, and healing & joy. Many are by contemporary women composers such as Holly Near, Harmony Grisman, Judy Fjell, Betsy Rose, MaMuse, and Copper Wimmin and originals by our own chorus members Madge Strong, Mary Buckley, and Tina Rader. There will also be a tribute Pete Seeger song and a few international folk songs, plus some audience sing-alongs. IVWC was formed in Fall of 1993, originally led by Judy Fjell. Madge Strong has been directing the chorus since 1997. It is a non-audition, welcoming and supportive group, currently with over 25 members.
